- Crime, re-offence, and substance abuse of patients with severe mental disorderPublication . Almeida, Fernando; Moreira, DianaScientific research has shown that there is a causal association between crime, re-offence, and severe mental disorder. Numerous authors have found that psychosis, particularly schizophrenic psychosis, personality disorders, namely antisocial personality disorder, and substance abuse are disorders, which considerably increase the criminal risk. The patients’ decompensation and the associated comorbidity, in this regard, can never be neglected. Therefore, in this paper a review of literature was performed whose goals demonstrate: 1) the relationship between severe mental disorder and crime; 2) the relationship between severe mental disorder and re-offence; 3) the relationship between substance use and crime; 4) the relationship between substance use in individuals with severe mental disorder and crime and re-offence.

- Gender IdentityPublication . Ribeiro, Maria Patrícia; Moreira, Diana; Coelho, Rui; Pereira, Altamiro; Almeida, FernandoThe aim was to contribute to future research on Gender Identity associated with other domains of human reality, while looking to not forget that, over time, it was an essential topic in Arts and Sciences, reflecting a curiosity to define, interpret, and research “representations” of masculine and feminine roles regarding the “actors” (men or women) of the “acts”, as well as their “spectators” (the other men and women, who are all of us). Currently, there seems to be an intensifying of undifferentiation of the roles assigned to Gender, a kind of androgyny, though without this meaning the existence of internal resonance of this undifferentiation, as if one walked towards a narcissistic society, as if it were mental hermaphroditism.

- Immature Personality Disorder: Contribution to the Definition of this PersonalityPublication . Almeida, Fernando; Ribeiro, Patrícia; Moreira, DianaIn clinical practice, psychiatrists, psychologists and other professionals claim, when appropriate, that an individual has an immature personality. Consulting the ICD-10 or the DSM-5, we found that IPD is not specifically referenced in the DSM-5 and, although it is referenced in the ICD-10, which includes, in Other Personality Disorders (F60.8), the “eccentric, haltlose type, immature, narcissistic, passive-aggressive and psychoneurotic personality (disorder)”, there is no explanation of the criteria of any of the personality disorder (PD) included in F60.8. This paper describes the case studies of two patients and aims to help to fill a gap in the major classifications of mental disorders. Empirical studies are needed to better define the diagnostic criteria and the fundamental diagnostic criteria for a better structuring of immature personality disorder.
