Resumo(s)
Humanistic and experiential therapies (HEP) are varied by encompassing a high number of models, such as client centred therapy, emotion-focused therapy, gestalt-therapy, and others. As important models that guide clinical practice in the field of psychology, psychotherapy and counselling worldwide, we aim to focus on the training practices that have been building therapists’ competence for delivering HEPs. Inspired by the systematic review of Rakovchik and Manus (2010) about training practices in cognitive behavioural therapies (CBT), as a benchmark systematic review, we aim to describe the existing empirically evidence-based research concerning training in the HEP’s modalities and identify current evidence on its effects on therapist competence or patient outcomes.
