This article presents some results from these studies, in particular, concepts, epidemiology, and consequences. We also propose a reflection on the confusion between sexual assault and pedophilia, concluding that there is a consensus among the scientific community that not all sexual perpetrators of children and adolescents are pedophiles and not all pedophiles are sexual perpetrators.engChild sexual abuseDevelopmental victimologySexual Violence against Children and Adolescents: A Developmental Victimologyjournal article
